概要: 科学における盗作とは
Plagiarism は "the use of others’ published and unpublished ideas or words (or other intellectual property) without attribution or permission, and presenting them as new and original rather than derived from an existing source" と定義される (2)。
The intent and effect of plagiarism are to mislead the reader as to the contributions of the plagiarizer. This applies whether the ideas or words are taken from abstracts, research grant applications, Institutional Review Board applications, or unpublished or published manuscripts in any publication format (print or electronic).”
とりあえず、文献 1 の内容をメモ。Translation software の使用を勧めている箇所があるが、原著論文を書くために有効なほど高性能になっているのか？

盗作の定義を編集者および科学者で共有する必要がある (1)。ソフトウェアは、単に他の論文との類似性が一定以上である文章を検出するだけで、plagiarism を定義するわけではない。 Materials & Methods でしばしば高い類似性が発見されるが、多くの場合、意図的なコピーではない。 同じ著者の文章であっても、適切な quotation や citation なしで記載するのは ブログやコメント欄に書いた文章はどうなのか？ - 適切に引用すべきと考える。 アイディアの盗用は、違う言葉で書かれていれば、ソフトウェアでは検出できない。専門家による peer-review が必要になるだろう。 書く側がソフトウェアを走らせ、元にした文章が検出されなくなるまでキーワードを入れ替えるということも可能になってしまった。 |
